Muhuyi Rimingado freed from prison

The suspended chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission, PCACC, Muhuyi Rimingado, has regained freedom meeting his bail condition.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that Mr Rimingado has reunited with his family at his Yahaya Gusau Road residence.

A Kano magistrate’s court presided over by Senior Magistrate Aminu Gabari on Friday granted Mr Rimingado bail after his first arraignment.

Armed policemen on Thursday arrested the embattled former PCACC chairman at the Sokoto Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, where he went for screening as Kano governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It was gathered that the policemen whisked him away immediately after his screening and took him to the FCT Command, and later transported to Kano to face charges.

Mr Rimingado was charged with false information, contrary to section 149, of Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2019.

Ruling on the bail application, Mr Gabari granted Mr Rimingado bail in the sum of N500,000 with two reliable sureties who shall be his biological father, paternal or maternal uncle and provide with the court their three years tax clearance.

The court similarly ordered that the defendant shall bring the chief Imam of Sharada Friday Mosque, or Village head of Sharada as part of the bail conditions.

The court also ordered that Mr Rimingado to deposit his international passport to the court registry for onwards transmission to the office of Kano State Chief Registrar.
