2025 Maikaya football competition: F.C Dogara emerges victorious

The 2025 football tournament organized by Hon. Maikaya Foundation has come to an end with a final encounter played between F.C Dogara clup A.K.A Scorpion F.C Verses Golden-bridge F.C where the former emerges victorious after defeating their opponent 1-0 in a penalty shoot-outs played at the end of 90minutes regulation time of one all draw.

The final match played at Keffi Township Stadium on Saturday, 9th August, 2025 was watched by a large number of football lovers across the entire Western zone and beyond.

Dignitaries present at the venue including the chief executive officer of the Foundation, Hon. Mohammed Musa Maikaya, former commission of information, Hon. Dogo Shama, S.A to the governor on youth and students matters who is also the chief operating officer of the foundation, Hon. Shuibu Sani, Hon Abdullahi Attajiri, the Zonal Coordinator of Engr AA Sule 2023 Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Hon. Mohammed Yakubu Dikko, former Executive Chairman, Keffi LGA, Chief Douglas Otaru, State Publicity Secretary of APC and other notable sons and daughters of Keffi LGA.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the presentation of trophies to the winners, Maikaya explained that the annual football competition which is the 5th is organized by his foundation with the sole aim of fetching out hiding talents among the teaming youths in the area and the state at large.

He said ” You sse uniting people and communities is part of the cardinal objectives of Maikaya foundation and so we feel this is an opportunity for us to do that and of course in line with the objective of the state government to see that there is peace and harmony in all parts of Nasarawa state.

So building on what Engineer Abdullahi Sule is doing, our foundation also deemed it fit to play it’s role in ensuring peace and harmony through sport competitions, particularly football across all the local governments of the state.

“You will agree with me that everybody here is happy and that is what we want to create across Nasarawa state.”

He called on youths to desist from idleness rather engage themselves regularly on value creation especially sports activities such as football or any other commitment that will bring out their inherent potential to make a carrier of themselves thereafter.

He then used the medium and appealed to relevant authorities as well as stake-holders in the state to collaborate with the foundation in making sure that the youths are engaged in all aspects and their minds taking off the street for economic growth, peace and harmony in the community.

Highlights of the event including the presentation of trophy, medals and prize money to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, group photos among others.
